We offer three opportunities to gather for worship with Holy Communion on Sundays in the Nave (which is the name we use for our primary worship space).
7:45 a.m. | Spoken
A quiet service of the proclamation of the Word of God and celebration of Holy Communion, with a sermon, but without music. This contemplative service will be around 30 minutes, offering stillness and brevity.
8:30 a.m. | Episcopal
This service of Holy Communion is grounded in ancient traditions of Christian worship, with a dynamic sermon, with liturgy with hymns, and anthems. This service will be distinct in its rich musical offerings, supported by our gifted staff singers. The liturgy will be completed by 9:15 a.m.
10:30 a.m. | Innovative
We will gather in the Nave for a more innovative and creative liturgy of Holy Eucharist, drawing from many parts of the Anglican world and our own supplemental texts. This service will be supported by our downtown and uptown choirs, along with a full complement of staff singers.
Any sung music listed in the bulletin by page number will be located in the blue hymnals.
During Worship, all are invited to receive bread and wine in Holy Communion. You may choose to receive the bread only. Or, if you prefer, indicate by crossing your arms in front of you that you wish to receive a blessing instead. The ushers will invite you to come forward to stand with others on the rug . At St. Stephen’s, we use gluten-free bread.
